What is the Narrm Scholarship?

The Narrm Scholarship is a life-changing opportunity aimed at supporting students from disadvantaged backgrounds and Indigenous students enrolling in an undergraduate degree at the University of Melbourne. It’s more than just financial aid—it’s an all-encompassing support system designed to help you succeed academically, socially, and personally while at uni.

The term “Narrm” is the Woi-wurrung word for the area we now call Melbourne, acknowledging the traditional custodians of the land, the Wurundjeri and Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin Nation. This scholarship reflects the University’s commitment to creating a supportive, inclusive community where you’ll find a sense of belonging and the tools to succeed.

What do you get as a Narrm Scholar?

Key benefits include:

• Up to $35,500 in financial support over the course of your degree.
  • A $6,500 annual living allowance to help cover everyday expenses.
  • A $3,000 relocation allowance if you're moving from a regional or remote area.
  • Starting from 2025, up to $20,000 per year in accommodation support for those in approved University accommodation or $10,000 for those in residential colleges.
